Presiding Justice Whalen and Justice Troutman presented Judge-Elect Foote Beavers with a lithograph of the Fourth Department Courthouse in Rochester as a small token of the Court’s appreciation for her years of service.

Lenora Foote Beavers, Executive Assistant to Fourth Department Presiding Justice Gerald J. Whalen, was sworn in as the newest Buffalo City Court Judge before an enthusiastic and emotional standing-room-only gallery in Buffalo City Court on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Presiding Justice Whalen presided over the swearing-in ceremony, which was attended by many judges from throughout the Eighth Judicial District, who were introduced by Administrative Judge Paula Feroleto. The uplifting ceremony included stirring vocals from Judge-Elect Foote Beaver’s son, David Herring, and heartfelt remarks from Chief City Court Judge Craig Hannah, bar representative David Edmunds, and Fourth Department Associate Justice Shirley Troutman. Judge-Elect Foote Beavers, who served for a decade as a Magistrate with Erie County Family Court and also worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Buffalo before joining the Fourth Department in early 2016, will officially take the bench in Buffalo City Court on January 1.

After the ceremony, Presiding Justice Whalen and Justice Troutman presented Judge-Elect Foote Beavers with a lithograph of the Fourth Department Courthouse in Rochester as a small token of the Court’s appreciation for her years of service. The Court wishes Judge-Elect Foote Beavers all the best as she embarks on this new phase of her public service career!
