Under certain circumstances you are advised to first contact the IT Service Desk before resetting your password.

You have multiple court issued computers (laptop and desktop)		Call the Service Desk
You have multiple court issued computers (desktops)		If all computers are located in a court office, ok to proceed.
You are in the office on a court issued computer.		OK to proceed.
You are working remote from a court issued computer.		OK to proceed.
You are working remote from a personal computer.		OK to proceed.

How to Choose a "Good" Password:

1. Know What You Can NOT Do

You can not re use the same password.
You can not include your name or username in your password.
You can not use "commonly" hacked passwords (such as "abc123", etc).

2. Use Complexity

Minimum 10 characters
Include a combination of at least 3:
Upper case letters	A - Z
Lower case letters	a - z
Numbers	0 - 9
Special characters	~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * _ - + = � \| \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; " ' < > , . ? /

3. Make it Easy for YOU to Remember

Passwords are CaSe SeNsItIvE.

Think of a phrase, quote, or song verse.
Replace vowels with numbers or special characters.
Use spaces and add punctuation.

Examples:
I_Love_Cars	I love cars.	I LOVE cars!
33CalicoCats	My_Calico_Cat	My2Calico Cats
Cant@elope	Can't elope	Cannot elope?
Columbus in 1492.	I LOVE MY dog!	I am the #1

How to Set a New Password:

If you are in the office:

IF you are using a DESKTOP computer and also have a court issued LAPTOP – PLEASE CALL the IT Service Desk first.

If you are working remotely from a court-issued computer:

IF you are using your court issued laptop to SSLVPN or "Remote Into" your Office PC – PLEASE CALL the IT Service Desk.

If you are working remotely from a personal computer:

In this scenario you are using your personal computer to SSLVPN or "Remote Into" your Office PC. If you have the opportunity to wait until you are in the office to set a new password – the procedure is much more simplified. If you password is about to expire and needs to be reset sooner, follow the procedure below.
